CatNap is a non-profit, volunteer-driven cat rescue organization serving Nanaimo and Central Vancouver Island since 1998
DID YOU KNOW:
  • Cats that are abandoned must contend with horrible conditions and problems that result in a slow and painful death. These include: starvation, dehydration, the elements, disease, predators, injuries, accidents, not to mention the loneliness, stress and fear of being alone and in unfamiliar surroundings.
  • Feral cats are the offspring of stray or abandoned domestic cats who revert to the wild state. Raised without human contact, they become fearful of humans.
  • Feral and abandoned cats live an average of only 2 years.
  • One mating pair of cats can produce 420,000 offspring in 7 years! Think of all of those helpless kittens born in the wild where only 1 in 5 will survive. Please spay and neuter your pet.
  • Cats can be spayed/neutered at 8 weeks of age.

VOLUNTEERS
NEEDED!

CatNap is looking for dependable people to promote awareness and help fulfill the purpose of helping abandoned cats in the Nanaimo area.  The selfless giving of your time enables us to make a difference.

It only takes a few hours a month. And, it will make you feel great!

"I am lovable."   Help us complete the circle.
Adopt, Support, Volunteer.
We are their safety net.  You are their home sweet home.

CatNap has had an overwhelming increase in helping abandoned kittens and cats. We ask that cat
owners take responsibility by getting your cats spayed /neutered and by NOT abandoning your
cats. Thank you to the responsible cat owners out there; we and your cats are greatly appreciative!
Key Reasons To Spay or Neuter Your Cat

1. Spaying or neutering increases your cat's chances for a longer, healthier life.

2. A spayed / neutered cat is a better pet for your family.

3. No family wants to cope with an unwanted pregnancy.

4. Less animals will die in shelters if your pet is spayed or neutered.
